Extracurricular Activity - University of Wisconsin Marching Band

        The UW Marching Band calls itself the hardest working band in America. I expected back then that Mike Leckrone was being hyperbolic, I was wrong. In this program I learned to really push myself. I learned to enjoy the ninety degree days in August as much the five degree days in December. This program taught me that true motivation comes from within. I was able to excel in this environment, and was named as the section leader for my instrument my senior year. I lead by example, giving everything my full effort no matter the task. The UW Marching band teaches teamwork, accountability, and how to push through being uncomfortable. I am excited to use the skills I have learned from this experience on a new challenge.
